About
Welcome to Harvest Eatery and The Blind Boar, a culinary gem nestled in Shaunavon, Saskatchewan, at 492 Centre St. This delightful establishment has built a reputation that transcends geography, drawing guests from all over, including those traveling along the Trans-Canada Highway. In a world where dining experiences can often feel repetitive, Harvest Eatery stands as a beacon of culinary artistry and thoughtful service.
As soon as you step inside, you are greeted by a chic and modern atmosphere, adorned with art from local creators that enhances the vibe. The unique open galley kitchen allows patrons to witness the magic as Chef Rusty and his talented team craft incredible dishes right before your eyes. This transparency not only draws you into the experience but allows you to appreciate the craftsmanship behind each plate.
The reviews from delighted diners truly speak volumes. Dennis Fedak praises the "incredible food and stellar service," recommending it as a must-visit for anyone traveling to the area—a sentiment echoed by Esther Derksen, whose wedding guests raved about the exquisite catering. They enjoyed dishes that transformed the monumental occasion into a delicious celebration. Don't miss the BBQ here, lauded by Mark Kroeker, who warns diners to prepare for the “meat sweats”—an enticing promise for any barbecue lover!
Distinctive menu items like the bone marrow bison tartar and the speckled park beef tenderloin have wowed customers such as Nadine Robinson, who appreciates Chef Rusty's flair for preparing beef to perfection. Each bite tells a story, whether it's the smoky depth of flavor in the brisket or the refreshing notes in the Peruvian chicken. And let’s not overlook the signature sides—in particular, the addictive Dill Pickle potato salad leaves diners craving more.
For those with a penchant for sweets, the lemon tart at Harvest Eatery is hailed as a perfect balance of tartness and sweetness, rounding out a meal to satisfaction. Sweet endings like these elevate the entire dining experience, ensuring that every course is memorable. However, as Carolyn Taylor recognized, there’s always room for improvement—perhaps in the coffee selection, but the incredible food more than makes up for it.
In conclusion, Harvest Eatery and The Blind Boar is not just a place to eat; it's a destination for food lovers. Their commitment to quality, creativity, and community shines through every dish served. So whether you're a local or just passing through, make sure to carve out some time to savor this wonderful dining experience. It's a meal that's definitely worth the drive!
“ Incredible food and stellar service made this an excellent overall dining experience. I would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone travelling to the Shaunavon area. I would even recommend it to people travelling on the number one highway. It is well worth a half hour drive. ”
“ Harvest catered our wedding and multiple guests told me it was the best food they've ever had at a wedding. We can't thank Rusty and his team enough for all the delicious food and courteous and thoughtful service! It was just what we wanted for our special day. ”
“ Wow, just wow! Get ready for the meat sweats. The BBQ here is absolutely amazing and well worth a drive from Swift Current. The decor is chic and modern. The food is prepared at a galley kitchen in front of patrons which is a neat touch. Any of their BBQ offerings are well worth the visit. I had a steak which was a tad underdone but I would prefer that to over cooked. The Dill Pickle potato salad was deadly good. If you’re looking for a nice outing with your significant other, look no further. ”
“ We drove an hour out of the way to go to this place and from the outside it was understated, but it didn't disappoint. The bone marrow bison tartar was amazing, and the speckled park beef tenderloin with bearnaise rivaled steaks I've had in Argentina. Chef Rusty knows how to treat beef. Great art from local artists. It's a vibe. The Peruvian chicken, brisket, and cheese dip were also favourites at our table. ”
“ The grilled chicken sandwich was probably the best sandwich I have ever eaten. Absolutely delicious. The lemon tart had just the right balance of tartness and sweetness, and the serving size was perfect - just enough to satisfy a craving for something sweet at the end of the meal. The only thing missing for me - no decaf coffee. The food was outstanding. ”
“ Great restaurant in Shaunavon SK. The meals were prepared fairly quickly, there is a good selection of drinks and great hospitality. My corn chowder was made from scratch as far as I could tell and my burger tasted great. ”
“ My husband saw this restaurant featured on a Saskatchewan highlights show. We went out of our way to come here. We are actually from a smaller community out of Saskatoon. We were on a holiday kinda in the area. Right from entering the door we knew this was going to be fun and a unique dining experience. We were able to watch Chef prepare many meals. We both had the handheld beef dip. Not just any beef dip but layers and layers of flavor! The Brussel sprouts were suggested to me for a side. Again not just any Brussel sprouts but more. Roasted and the flavor! Couldn't stop there. Ate half ( took a go box) and ordered dessert. I had the apple cheesecake. The smoothest I have ever tasted. My husband had the Chocolate funnel (?) Cake Filled with smoooth Chocolate in a chocolate cake covered in chocolate! You have to eat here!!! Thankyou Chef for the experience. Oh yes! I have never had a Chef come shake your hand and thankyou for coming. ”
“ Well worth the drive from wherever you live. We came here from Regina. Had the beet salad, harvest burger with warm potato salad, black n blue burger with fries. Everything was cooked as you’d expect. Tasted amazing. The staff are super personable. Our server owns the coffee shop down the street and was sharing how the local businesses here work together. They serve Harvest food at the coffee shop at lunch and the coffee is served at the Harvest. What a great SK gem! With cocktails and dessert we spent 120 for 2 of us. Our anniversary splurge ”
